For over 28 years I have specialized in helping to support individuals, couples and families in dealing with depressive and mood disorders, grief and loss, anxiety and phobic disorders, chemical dependency and eating disorders, PTSD, relationship issues, as well as adoption and diversity issues. I am currently finishing my PsyD at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis. During my years as a psychotherapist, in addition to running a full private practice, I have helped develop and co-lead an eating disorders unit and helped facilitate numerous childhood abuse recovery groups at the John Bradshaw Center at Ingleside Hospital in Los Angeles, California. I have also given many seminars on addiction recovery, mental health, life transitions, balance and well-being, as well as a lecture series following the events of 9/11. With current state licenses in both California and Virginia in Marriage and Family Therapy, I am an active clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Virginia Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. I have completed the Mentor Coach program and have become a Certified Mentor Coach (CMC). I also am a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF). I am a graduate of the University of Maryland and the Phillips Graduate Institute, holding a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Health. |
